What a sad week at CVS.  I'm beyond disappointed.  There are virtually NO good deals for earning ECB's this week.  However, if you have some ECB's already saved up, there are some decent B1G1 sales or B1G1 50% sales.

Because it's such a dud week, I'm not going to do a $5 deal scenario for CVS this week.  But you might want to look for some deals on these items:

Restaurant.com Deal

I don't usually blog about national deals, but this one is TOO GOOD to not say something about.  

Restaurant.com is having an 80% off sale on their gift certificates to local eateries all around the country.  Normally, they sell $25 gift certificates for $10.  This weekend, however, they're selling those for 80% off when you add the code PUMPKIN to your cart, which makes the $25 gift certificate cost $2!!!!!!!!  

A few things you need to know before you indulge: 

• Restaurant.com features LOCALLY owned eateries.  Don't go looking for chain restaurants on there; you won't find them. 
• There are "strings" attached to the offers.  For example, on *most* (some have different rules) of the $25 gift certificates, your total bill has to be at least $35 before they'll let you use the gift certificate.  This means you'll spend at least $10 out of pocket when you go to the restaurant plus gratuity.  However, I still think that getting a $35 dinner for $12 (including the cost of the gift certificate) is a GREAT deal!  
• The certificates are good for about a year from purchase, so don't buy more than you can use within a year.  
• Broaden your zip code search for restaurants to at least 15 or 20 miles to get the largest selection of restaurants in your area.  I don't know about you, but I'm willing to drive a few minutes to get a good (but inexpensive!) dinner :)  Consider it an adventure, and make a date out of it!

Fort Worth Friends:  Have you heard of Town Talk???  It's the best kept secret in our fine city!!!  Town Talk is a grocery store warehouse that carries overstock, discontinued items, etc.  I visited Town Talk yesterday because I needed some spices that are VERY expensive in the regular grocery store or supercenter.  Here's what I bought:

If you're interested in heading to Town Talk to find some great buys for yourself, I keep these pointers in mind:

• Go on a Saturday.  Word has it that this is when the trucks are unloaded and they have the best selection.  Going on a Saturday also helps you to be leisurely and really hunt for the best deals.  
• Before you leave, make sure you KNOW YOUR PRICES in the local grocery store, as some of the Town Talk prices are HIGHER than the regular store.  
• SET A BUDGET before you leave home.  I recommend setting a limit of $10-$20.  Take cash with you so that you have to stick to your budget!  When you are setting your budget, be aware that Town Talk DOES NOT accept coupons because they are a warehouse center.
